Beautifully Forgotten by L.A. Fiore... RELEASE DAY!!!!

Title: Beautifully Forgotten
Series: Beautifully Damaged #2
Author: L.A. Fiore
 Release Date: July 29, 2014

SYNOPSIS

Successful restaurateur Lucien Black’s blue-green eyes and unattainable attitude drive women wild. But his abandonment issues and criminal past have left him emotionally closed off. When a familiar face shows up for a job interview at his nightclub, the ache he has tried to forget tears at his heart—it’s the girl who once healed him…and then abandoned him.

Darcy MacBride still remembers Lucien’s delicate touch when they were both wildly in love teenagers. His gorgeous eyes had soothed her hurt after she’d been dumped off at the orphanage where Lucien lived. Darcy felt his jagged edges fit perfectly into her own, and she’d planned to spend the rest of her life with him—until a mysterious man warned her away. Now, fourteen years later, she’s ready to endure the torture of Lucien’s indifference and having him as her boss…just to be near him. But when it seems that they might finally take up where they left off, a devastating secret buried in their past threatens to tear them apart again.

L.A. Fiore’s story of smoldering love recaptures the tormented romance of Beautifully Damaged.

EXCERPT

Lucien watched as Darcy struggled to get the printer working. Even from his distance he could hear the cursing, which made him smile. It had been a week since their relationship had taken a very pleasant turn. She was still just as feisty as he remembered and it wasn’t hard for him to recall why he had fallen for her in the first place. Their sparring was verbal foreplay and he fucking craved it. His eyes moved over her. Her body was nothing like the one he had known, with curves that his hands itched to touch. Her hair was up, though he preferred it down, and tendrils were falling out of the twist. He remembered vividly the sight of it spread out over his pillow.

He had to admit that she was still just as interesting to him as she had been at fourteen. Despite everything, she was still his Darcy—sweet, witty, and guileless, except at the moment. She looked about ready to torch the printer, so he moved to help her. As he approached, she was actually staring into the paper tray, yelling at the creatures that lived inside it.

He chuckled, which must have taken her by surprise, because she leaped backward and landed on his foot.

“Fuck!” he cursed.

“Sorry.”

He looked down at her strappy sandals with heels high enough to stake a vampire and had a vision of those legs draped over his shoulders. Instantly, he was hard.

“I was going to offer to help you. The printer can be temperamental, but now I’m bleeding out from a stab wound.”

She didn’t miss a beat. “It probably didn’t even break the skin. What is it you guys say? Rub some dirt into it.”

He eyed her shoes. “Those things should be listed as lethal weapons.”

“Hardly. There are far cheaper ways to kill someone.” She bent to stare into the printer again and Lucien took the opportunity to check out the curve of her ass in the little black skirt she wore.

“Stop checking out my ass and help me.”

Not at all repentant for getting caught staring, he replied easily, “It’s a paper jam.”

He thought he was being helpful and when she straightened slowly, he entertained the notion that she was struggling with the need to throw herself into his arms in gratitude.

One look at her face, though, and he knew he wasn’t going to be copping a feel.

“Your powers of deduction are astounding. Seriously, you should give a seminar on mastering the obvious.”

He tried not to laugh, but he lost that battle. And she responded by flaying a layer of skin off him with her sharp tongue.

“I know it’s a paper jam, Sherlock, I just can’t find it.”

“It’s usually in the back,” Lucien said as he reached for the back of the printer, his arm brushing up against her on purpose. Darcy’s inhaled breath in response had his balls tightening. He dislodged the paper and pulled it free.

He turned to her with a smug smile, which she returned with uncanny accuracy before she said, “Thanks. I almost lost my cool.”

“Almost?”

A slight smile touched her lips. “I should go restart my print job.”

“Probably, unless you can get the little men in the printer to do it.”

Brownies.”

“What?”

She laughed. “Not the baked goods, the little mischievous mystical creatures.”

“They live in my printer?”

“Maybe.” She started away, but stopped and turned to him.“Thanks.”

“Have dinner with me tonight.”

She eyed him through her lashes before she said, “You’re on.”

And then she turned and disappeared into her office.

STATISTIC BY DAWN ROBERTSON....NEW RELEASE

Synopsis:

Love.
Betrayal.
Deception.
Attempted Murder.
Aurora Alexander is everything headlines are made of.

Newly divorced single mother Aurora Alexander is trying to move on with her life.
After a string of unsuccessful blind dates, she turns to internet dating.
Everyone does it, so it has to be safe. Right?

Wrong.

Prologue What makes a person tick? Is it the way they are raised? Perhaps it is a genetic predisposition. Our DNA coded from the moment of conception to write out the entire way our life will play out. Of course some things will be left to chance; fate better yet. But I can tell you from personal experience, some people are just born bad. I always did my best, despite having the genetic odds stacked against me. Saying I didn't win the parental lottery would have been one of the understatements of the century. Yet, I was always able to skate by in life. Trying not to become a statistic. Little did I know other people would take my choices away from me. I guess most of my problems started when I got married. I was such a naïve twenty year old. I thought the world was all sunshine and roses. He was my world, my reason for living. That was until he lost interest in me. A high risk pregnancy, bed rest, sex restrictions, and a colicky baby will kill intimacy for anyone. Breastfeeding isn't sexy. Neither are the stretch marks Liam left me with. I didn't care, and I still don't. But he did, and that is why I caught him in bed with my eighteen year old babysitter when my son was barely three. I know, my life is starting to sound like a soap opera. I wish these were the darkest days. Back then, I thought they were. I thought going through a divorce with a four year old son was the end of the world. Ha. I wish I would have known what my future would hold. What damage could be done at the hands of a stranger I thought I knew. Does anyone truly ever know another person? My answer to that question would be no. Even the most open and honest people have dark secrets. Shit they would never reveal to anyone. You know you have those type of secrets, we all do. Hell, I do. I typically would never tell anyone. Except since the world knows most of them now, it is my turn to tell my own story. The true story of Aurora Alexander. The real dangers of picking up strange men on the internet under the guise of dating, and new beginnings. It all began as a game. A way to spread my wings, and learn the dating game after being out of it for a decade. It ended in a violent attempt on my life. I am a fighter. I have lived to tell my story. No one can silence me. Not even him.

Rogue by Katy Evans..... review by Dawn

Greyson King...

My boyfriend. My friend. My protector. He's the reason I wake up every morning with a smile on my face, and the reason I fall asleep limp, worn out, and aching for his warm arms around me. When we make love, he says my name like it means something. Like I mean something.
He
Lied.
His name is Greyson King, but his alias is Zero.
There's zero trace of him, he has zero past, and now I know that with him, I will have zero future.
He may leave no trace of him anywhere, but his imprint is in me, in my very soul--and I hate that a mere look at him commands the beat of my heart. The temperature of my body.
I've looked for love my entire life. I've waited for the butterflies, the rainbows...
Instead I'm in a free fall of emotions and there's no one to catch me but the one man I should be running away from. The one man I thought was my prince charming.
Except this prince charming went rogue.
Greyson will stop at nothing to make me be with him. He'll let no one stand in our way, will allow no one to threaten me, and maybe this is what scares me most of all...
What will my rogue do to keep me?

First off let me just say... There is a new Book Boyfriend on the horizon! Greyson "Zero" King! Super Hot, Alpha and dangerous!  All the things we love about our leading men.
Rogue is book 4 in the Real Series by Katy Evans... and people it does NOT disappoint. Let's just all keep in mind this is NOT Remy and that makes this book and writer even more impressive to me. She has come up with some of the greatest leading men!

Melanie, we know is Brooke's best friend. She is always shining bright, with her 3 color rule when getting dressed,  to her  looking for the best in every situation. She is seemingly happy to everyone around her. No one would know she is in deep debt and even deeper trouble. Never wanting to be a burden to her family or friends, Melanie is determined  to fix this problem all on her own, even if it means selling the things she holds closest to her heart.

Greyson aka, Zero, watches her, he has for months. He knows how much trouble she is in, he knows the debt she owes, he knows that she is hiding it from those who love her most. He also knows she is a name on his list.  A list his dangerous father has tasked him to clear. Clear it and he will be rewarded with something he has wanted for most of his life.
But can Greyson go through with this task ? What cost will it take on his life as well as Melanie's?

These two are explosive! The chemistry is off the charts. This is Katy Evans doing what she does best... giving us these intense leading men and strong leading ladies. I really didn't think it could get better than Remy, but I will happily say...Greyson King, is my new Remy without the mental health issues. To me Greyson, is a good guy deep in his heart. I know he is a badass and has to be to get what he needs from his father, but his heart is in the right place. And this is a man who does not take NO for an answer. I LOVE that about him. He is in Mel's  face and all over her body!

The burden Mel carries, is not only her debt, but also the loss of her sister. She is trying to live up to everyone's expectations. But are these really other's expectations or self imposed issues she has created in her own mind?

I really loved this story. This is where Mrs. Evans excels. She can write a troubled, alpha man, with a heart of gold, like nobody's business!! Its the perfect blend of making you love and question if you even like Greyson. But trust me, you do... His protective nature really is endearing and it makes him perfect for Melanie.

We do get a visit from the "Real Gang" ...  They are not "forefront" in the whole story, which worked for me really well. Although, Pandora is in the story quite often, it works... and makes me super excited for Ripped ( Book 5 Pandora's story.)

Rogue by Katy Evans, gets a BIG 5 Clocks from me!

Packaged ; An Erotic Quickie by Angela Graham and S.E. Hall..... review by Kathy

Packaged (An Erotic Quickie)

Blurb-
Certain men.
Certain professions.
Some things are just universally SEXY.
But maybe not quite this sexy-
"You've been expecting this."

So I was actively reading another book when I got a notification on Facebook that this little gem was recommended. I read the blurb, and was intrigued immediately. Besides the cover is freaking HOT.  I stopped reading the other book, one clicked this one and was off to read. Wasn't sure what I would find, it was supposed to be a quick read. I was immediately sucked into the story. Amelia, the heroine in the story is getting some interesting notes left in her mail cubby at work. The quotes grab your attention, you are left wondering if these are from some crazy stalker psycho guy or just a really inept and shy guy. I was going back in forth over which it really was.  She does tell him that she is not interested, but she is intrigued. Eventually they start texting each other.
40/60:

The last two women I fucked, it was your gorgeous body I envisioned as I took them from behind. It was the only position where I wouldn’t be reminded they weren’t you, that their faces were a dismal contrast to your magnificence. And when I shot my seed over their backs, hands tight in their dull hair, it was your name I called out. Loud yet still unsatisfied.
Holy shit! I struggle to find words to follow that. I’m fully creeped out, but I can’t ignore the slickness building between my thighs.
Me: R these women still alive?
Again, I’m not holding back my thoughts. With the chime he’s done typing, I’ve settled into the couch with a glass of white wine, wrapped in a fuzzy throw blanket to warm the gooseflesh covering my legs.
30/70: Yes.
That’s it? Yes? I’m gonna need a bit more than “yes” to keep this little chat going.
Me: Alive but buried in a box somewhere counting down air minutes? Not a question to answer vaguely.
20/80: Fuck, you really peg me for a psycho, don’t you? Smart girl.
Spine painfully rigid, my fingers grasp so tight around the stem of my glass I’m waiting for it to shatter. I snap. Smart girl? Shit, shit, shit! No time to change his ID from 20/80 to 100% lunatic, I quickly type a reply.
Me: Goodbye.
20/80: You are a smart girl, Amelia. That’s not to scare you but an endearment. I’m not looking to bury you alive. That would be a new one for me. And not my thing. I enjoy watching a woman walking away on wobbly legs, thoroughly fucked.
Now’s the time to block him, but instead I’m typing again.
Me: Have you ever been arrested, called in for questioning in a murder and/or missing person’s case?
10/90: No
Me: Ever hit a woman?
10/90: Only when they begged for it. You like to be spanked?
Me: Idk. Never tried it

Me: Met a woman in person after meeting her on the internet?
40/60: No. You?
Me: NO. Definitely not. 100% hetero, but no to a man either ;)
40/60: See-> Smart girl!

40/60: Are you lonely?
Me: You are NOT coming over. OMG, talk about one step forward, forty-five back!
40/60: I meant in general, Amelia. Are you lonely?
40/60: Top 5 criteria for a man you’d give a chance?
Me: Hmmm. 1. Meeting him in person. 2. Completely single, unattached with no crazy ex-wives or children. 3. No record. 4. Polite, a gentleman of sorts. I’m capable of opening my own car door, but remembering special dates would be nice. 5. No wandering eyes or other body parts. Absolute, unfailing monogamy and faithfulness. U?
40/60: 1. Same. 2. Compatible sexually. 3. Moral, honest character. 4. Not high maintenance (which opening her car door every time is not) 5. Same.
Me: Well, who knows, maybe one day you’ll man up and come say hi. In public tho please! Still not convinced you’re not gonna dispose of my body when you’re done with all those dirty things you’re supposedly planning. For now, I’m off to bed. HAGN.
40/60: Perhaps. Pleasant dreams, Beauty.

I have to say that the authors do a spectacular job of making you like/dislike the Hero of the story. I was constantly changing my mind as to whether Amelia should respond or ignore the messages. They have just enough to make you second guess everything. I loved it. I always love when authors are able to do that, and with it being a shorter book, I was impressed that was able to get this much feeling from me. I liked the character of Amelia, she was shy , yet stood up for herself when needed. She totally took on the "bitch" of the story. Do wish that something had happened to the bitch. I was suspicious of every single guy she came in contact with throughout the book. I thought for sure I had figured everything out, then seconded guessed everything. I was shocked about some of the things that happened. At one time I wanted to punch the "H" of the story.
I really did enjoy this one. Gladly give it 4 1/2 clocks, would have been a full 5 clocks if just a little bit longer. Would like to see more with the characters though. They intrigued me, a lot. There is so much more that I want to say but really don't want to give any spoilers out.

About Andrea Smith

I was born and raised in southern Ohio, and with the exception of a brief stint in Dallas, TX, have been an Ohioan most of my life. My dream has always been to write a novel, and back in the early eighties I tried to do just that, having been influenced by authors such as Kathleen Woodiwiss, Johanna Lindsey, Rosemary Rogers and Laurie McBain. I remember writing to all of them through their listed publishers, and the only response I received was from Johanna Lindsey. (I still love her so hard!) In the summer of 2012, I no longer had a reason not to write a novel. My sons were grown; I found myself out of the hell-hole (a.k.a. Corporate America - blessedly) and the creative juices could flow once again.
I finished my first novel, "Maybe Baby" in September of 2012; the next two books in the "Baby Series" titled "Baby Love" and "Be My Baby" were published in early 2013. I learned a lot in my first endeavor with self-publishing. I've made so many friends as a result that it is over-whelming.
In the spring of 2013, I had an idea for a different type of alpha, and wrote Book #1 of the "G-Man" Series, titled "Diamond Girl." This book was well-received, and I followed it with Book #2, "Love Plus One." Book #3 in the series was released in November of 2013 and is titled, "Night Moves," and Book #3.5, a novella to finish off the series is titled, "G-Men Holiday Wrap." These are stand-alone books, although I would advise reading them in order for optimum enjoyment.
In the spring of 2014, The Erotica Consortium (EC) released an 8-author anthology titled, "Bend." My contribution to the anthology is a book titled, "These Men." The anthology has met with awesome reviews! It hit #109 on USA Today's Best-Seller List on May 14, 2014.
I am finally doing what I love and I sincerely appreciate the wonderful readers who provide feedback and take the time to comment. I hope that with each book, my writing has grown and improved as I strive to publish quality fiction.
