Acquisition by Chelle Bliss...Review by Dawn

What could possibly go wrong with having an innocent one night stand? EVERYTHING for Lauren Bradley. Drinks with a handsome stranger, a stranger with an accent to boot, is just what this over worked CEO of Interstellar needs. How was she to know that the handsome stranger would end up being the CEO of Cozza Industries. The company that is trying to take her company away. The only thing that Lauren wants more than her handsome stranger, is Interstellar.
This story grabs you right from the first pages, we learn why Lauren is so dedicated to her profession. She is driven to make her fathers dreams come true, even if it is too late for him, she is going to make it happen. I love this, I love her love for her father. The emotion Ms. Bliss wrote in Lauren's telling of her father and his commitment and sacrifice for her, well it was personal and I felt it. I really liked Lauren and I like that she was a BOSS in every sense of the word. Until she meets Mr. Antonio Forte.

Mr. Forte ( that is how I dress him) I fell hard for you sir. While I was reading this book, I had envisioned him as Raoul Bova (seriously look him up) and that made home even more delicious. I loved his brashness and his controlling ways. I guess I didn't pick up on him being a recluse. I was like "how did she not know? This guy is in your line of work." When you read on about his family, I finally understood and that made him even more intriguing.

Lauren and Antionio have this amazing chemistry and it comes to live on the pages. Ms. Bliss has a gift, she always makes me feel. She makes me laugh and she makes me blush on occasion, but I enjoy every second of it.
I am currently reading Merger to see where she takes us and what happens with Antonio and Lauren. I feel his family is going to play a big part in this story and I am looking forward to it. I think Ms. Bliss writes some of the best families in print!!!

COVER REVEAL and GIVEAWAY ....EL SANTO by M. Robinson

COVER REVEAL
EL SANTO
BY: USA TODAY Bestselling Author M. Robinson
Genre: Contemporary/New Adult Romance
Standalone
Cover Model Enrico Ravenna
Cover Designer: TheFinal Wrap
Release Date: November 16th, 2017

I didn’t know darkness and evil lurked inside me until I had to murder in order to survive. Forced to become my own worst enemy. With so much blood on my hands, I was surprised I could still see my own skin.
I killed.
I tortured.
I loved…
I played God while I was rotting in Hell. Thriving on control and power was the only way I knew how to live. There were no other options.
If you weren’t my friend, you were my foe.
If you weren’t with me, you were against me.
Traitors, as I called them. There were no imaginary lines. I’d crossed them all. No boundaries. No second chances. No redemption.
Not for me.
For them.
For anyone.
Only for her…
She loved me. Always convinced I was a saint, never believing I was just another sinner.
A fucking monster.

Until it was too late.

Except, I didn’t choose this life. It. Chose. Me.

He was there. He was really there with me. I wasn’t imagining it. His arm wrapped around my shoulders, hugging me back and I squeezed him tighter. Sobbing harder. “Shhh…Muñeca. I’m here. Shhh… It’s okay, I’m here.” In that moment with him, something told me that for the first time in his life… He didn’t feel so alone anymore either.

Royal Pain by Tracy Wolff....... review by Dawn

35212286He’s a womanizer. He’s cocky. He’s not exactly a prince. Only he technically is. Meet your new royal obsession in this addictive novel from New York Times bestselling author Tracy Wolff.

Being rich opens a lot of doors. When you’re rich and royal, those doors lead to a new bedroom every night. I should know. The tabloids call me His Royal Hotness, Prince Kian of Wildemar. Women across the world see me as a naughty fairy tale, an image I’m happy to indulge. As the spare to the heir, I’m the prince with none of the power . . . and all of the perks.

Then my twin brother is kidnapped, and suddenly I’m the one who could be king. The crown chasers start circling—and yet it’s a luscious waitress who catches my eye. With a smart mouth and the curves to back it up, Savannah Breslin is as brazen as I’d expect an American commoner to be.

But Savvy’s not interested in playing Cinderella. As sexy as she is, she’s no stranger to heartbreak. Besides, a nice guy wouldn’t drag her into all the drama that comes along with royalty. Lucky I’m not a nice guy. And, as it turns out, I might not even be her first prince

I wanted to just love this book, I honestly did...but I was almost annoyed from the get go. He is a prince, a PRINCE, with that we all know comes money and status. I did  not need the bombardment of label dropping, everything from his tie to his socks. I GET IT, he can afford to dress like royalty. I do not need all that information.

I was also a bit lost by the fact that the Royal Prince has been kidnapped and it takes 3 months to locate him. Not saying that things like this do not take time. I had issue with Kian's twin brother is kidnapped and he is out there scoring or trying to score chicks. What?
I could not get into Kian and Savvy's "relationship." Insta love rarely works for me. She was off putting towards Kian and he loved it, or something like that. He was absolutely drawn to Savvy and had to have her.
Once Savvy's "secret" is revealed , I was not interested any more, honestly. It did nothing for me. I am suppose to believe that his royal highness to the throne was in a secret relationship for not a year or even two, BUT 5, nope I don't buy it. Royals have no privacy!
The story was sexy and I really liked the banter of Savvy and Kian, but that was it. This story was just too much of a lot of things.

Malachi and I by JJ McAvoy........ review by Dawn

35988553

A Contemporary Mystical Romance

What if I told you the greatest love stories ever told—Cleopatra and Mark Antony, Salim and Anarkali, Romeo and Juliet and so many more—are far greater tragedies than anyone has ever realized?

What if I told you that you haven’t been reading a new story… just a new chapter in one epic saga?

If I told you…all of those lovers…were actually the same two souls seeking their happily ever after over and over again, would you believe me?

Would you believe them?
Born again,
Love again,
Part again,
Was their curse.

In this modern era, will they find eternal love or will they be doomed to repeat the cycle forever?

I  often use the word "smart" when I am referring to Ms. McAvoy 's writing, and so is the case with Malachi and I .
What a wonderful trip through time, visiting the original love stories that have spanned time. There are certain bullet points that I like to be checked off when I am reading and reviewing a book . This one meets, and exceeds most of them.
We get just enough angst to keep going, wondering how it is going to pan out.
The vivid picture Ms.McAvoy painted with her spot on storytelling and her natural ability to paint a clear picture.
Esther is so captivated by Malachi's stories, not knowing that they are a retelling of lives he has lived. She is so funny in the first half of the book, I laughed so much. Oh, but Malachi, he broke my heart! The retelling of his past lives, although BRILLIANT writing... My heart was so heavy and hurting for poor Malachi. The flashbacks were the high point of this story, so wonderfully written. I wish there had been more.
Esther's character grows throughout the book and that NEEDED to happen. She was a bit aloof at times and that didn't sit well with me. I loved that she became more, serious throughout the second half of the story. The heartbreaking stories that Malachi retold her were like torture. I was deeply moved by the way it played out.
The midway point in this story was a bit lagging, but it is brought back to life in the second portion of the book.I did miss the "hot factor" in this book, but really was this the book for that kind of thing?
I did enjoy this but I do honestly believe there is a definite audience for this book. I would say the 16-25 age range, with a vivid imagination, a lover of fairy tales, with a splash of angst!
