Insider, Exodus End World Tour book 1 by OIivia Cunning .... Review by Dawn

She’s finally ready to rock...
Toni Nichols set aside her dreams to raise her little sister, but now she's reaching for the stars as the creator of a revolutionary interactive biography about Exodus End. She’s on tour with the rock band to immerse herself in their world, but how will she ever gain the trust of four veteran superstars who've been burned by the media before? Nobody said this was going to be easy. Then again, good things can come in hard packages.

He's always ready to roll…
Adrenaline junkie Logan Schmidt lives for the rush of playing his bass guitar before thousands of screaming fans. When he's not performing onstage or in the bedroom, he's looking for his next thrill in extreme sports. So why does a sweet, innocent journalist get his heart pumping and capture his full attention? Is Toni the real deal or just digging up dirt on his band? Logan’s eager to rock Toni’s world and roll her in the sack, but when she starts to get too close to his heart, she takes her insider look to a place he may never be willing to go.

Ok, when I first started this book I was bothered by how similar this was to Backstage Pass Book 1 in the Sinners series. I felt like I was reading the same story with different names and little plot changes.  I did NOT give up on the book and I am thrilled that I didn't, I would have missed a GREAT Story!
Logan and Toni are AMAZING and a brilliant introduction to new series by Olivia Cunning.

Logan is hilarious, I was cracking up at the banter between the whole cast. Toni set out as this wallflower but quickly blossoms into this vivacious leading lady. I really adored her.

The Story that lies beneath the "Rock Star and Reporter" is really heart warming. Toni and her family dynamic, her love for his special needs little sister is beautifully written. The battle between doing what her mother wants from her or living for herself for once in her life?

Logan and his troubled relationship with his mom and brother, were written in a way, I see this coming to light in the books to come. Logan had  Alpha tendency's when it came to the band and Toni, it was so much fun to read.

Ms. Cunning KNOWS how to write a steamy scene , she does NOT disappoint AT ALL...

Wicked White by Michelle A Valentine .... Review by Dawn

After his mother dies, rock star Ace White—lead singer of the red-hot band Wicked White—is done with the celebrity game. The phony people, the meaningless one-night stands: he doesn’t want any of it anymore. Quitting in the middle of a sold-out tour, Ace sets out to find some place—any place—where he can be alone.
Aspiring singer Iris Easton’s life has never been easy. First, her mother walked out on her when she was a kid. Now she’s buried in debt, weeks after losing her beloved grandmother. When a mysterious and sexy new guy moves in next door, Iris can’t help but be drawn to his soulful gaze. She can tell there’s something from his past haunting him—something he’s not telling her.
Just as Ace starts falling for Iris, the media go on a worldwide hunt to find the missing rocker. Will true love conquer all, or will the truth be the very thing that tears the couple apart?

I liked this book, I didn't love it but I did enjoy it.
The main characters were very likable.  Ace and Iris were perfectly sweet and I believed the story told by the author.
I could see this being a best seller in an audience 16 and up, so YA.
I had a problem with the "insta love"  that this story is selling. But I have a problem with that in general . The back and forth waiting each other out between Ace and Iris got a bit tired. I did enjoy very much the fact that Ace was not a jerk. It's not very often we have a rocker with a good soul and good intentions. I found that refreshing.
I liked Adele and Birdie very much, they gave the story the humor .
It was just a bit sophomoric and I felt it lacked in intensity.
A quick and easy read .

A little Beach Reading.... by Dawn

A little Beach Reading....

So, I have been in this massive reading slump, this is not good for a blogger, nope not good at all! So what does one do when this happens? You take your sorry self to the beach!!! Well, I guess I should say "you take your family on a beach vacation!" Yes, I had to bring them along.

I normally enjoy sitting in sand and sun. Well as I am approaching 42 (I am fine with this... I think.) I am no longer the sun worshiper I once was. Now my routine is, read a little on the beach and then sit out on the deck surrounding the beach house and listen to the waves reading.

I have this massive TBR list that I have been trying to get to, with little luck. So, I was determined to knock some of those off the list this week. I am happy to report that YES, I did in fact read 5 books just for me. One was an ARC but it was short and really good! I started book #6 on the six hour drive home.
Here are the books and the synopsis for each one. They all are AMAZING . All of them are 4.5 to 5 Clock reads for me.

I was ordinary. Nice.

He was extraordinary. And he wasn’t always nice.

Moody and difficult, brilliant and beautiful, Kes scared me and he protected me. He could be incredibly hurtful and incredibly thoughtful. He wasn’t perfect, but he was perfect for me. He challenged me, he took me out of my safe little box and showed me the world could be magnificent. He was everything I wasn’t."

Aimee Anderson is ten when the traveling carnival first comes to her nice little town. She doesn’t expect her world to change so completely. But meeting Kestrel Donohue puts her life on a different path.

Even though she only sees him for the two weeks of the year when he passes through her home town, his friendship is the most important of her life. As a child’s friendship grows to adult love, the choices become harder, and both Kes and Aimee realize that two weeks a year will never be enough...

How many times do you gamble on love? When love has knocked you down, should you give it another chance? When does optimism become stupidity?

And what happens when the man you’re in love with is never still, always moving, always traveling? Do you say goodbye, or do you leave behind everything that you’ve worked for, everything that you’ve ever known? Can a traveling carnival be my home?

Oh. You thought I had the answers. No, sorry. No answers, just a lot of questions—and a heart that wants to rule my head.

Can one person be my home?
(Jane Harvey Berrick, Me and
Tyler Gattuso)

And like going home to an old friend.... I have read this book countless times and I will reread it many more ...

And the book I started on my "Beach Vacation is OVER" drive home
Sexy Love by Author Dani Lovell

Alexia Berkeley is a strong, powerful and independent woman who doesn’t need a man for anything. Well – other than a little light relief here and there, of course.

Sebastian Love has always flirted with her but other than the fine, professional businessman he manages to be when necessary, she knows what he’s like socially; a perverse, lecherous roué with nothing on his mind but female genitalia. Nothing could be further from her ‘type’, than him.

Could Alexia Berkeley have gotten Sebastian Love all wrong? She definitely seems to think so after a drink or two whilst letting her hair down with the girls, and his delicious, tattoo covered body certainly takes her into a new realm of naughtiness and desire. Will she abandon her rigid beliefs of decorum and correctness for a lasciviously thrilling lifestyle or will her life-long morals overrule?

Making The Cut A Selected Sinners MC Novel by Scott Hildreth.......Review by Dawn

Synopsis

Determined to remove herself from the rules regulations of her overbearing religious parents, Avery escapes to college and is determined to make it on her own. Working as a bartender, and mere weeks before her college graduation, she finds herself face to face with thirty members of an
Outlaw Motorcycle Club

She had no idea when the President of the club walked in she’d go weak in the knees for the gorgeous tattooed biker.

Axton (aka Slice) is the President of the Selected Sinners MC. At the onset of a huge gun deal with a notorious prison gang, he has no time or desire to have a woman in his life. Abused by his Hell’s Angel father as a child, and wronged by every woman in his past, Axton has one devotion - the MC.

But when the gun deal goes to hell in an hand basket, both Avery and Axton are left wondering what their next move may be.

This is the first book I have ever read from Scott Hildreth and I will say "I am a fan."  I also came to the conclusion that, Male and Female authors really do write in an entirely different fashions.  While this book and the story were awesome the differences were apparent. Female authors tend to lean more on the emotion, angst and tenderness in their stories, which I LOVE, lets make that clear. But it was really fascinating to me how Mr.Hildreth told a story with very little emotion and it worked so well. I was struggling with a way to explain this to you, so of course I asked my husband and he nailed it. I said " I am so happy that he gave me a chick that was not a pushover or a weak little bitch. Now how do I say that without saying that?" To which he so brilliantly said "sometimes you want a Gemma and not a Tara!" EXACTLY!!!
I loved Avery, she spoke her mind and never held back. She knew what she wanted and made it known and to hell with whomever had an issue with it.  She understood how the club worked and was fine with it, as long as she could speak her mind at home. Avery wanted to make Axton trust her so she was willing to take it at his speed, even if it was torture. She also was not what we normally read as "the sex kitten body" she was athletic in build and very tall. I like that he gave us something that was out of the norm.

Axton, grew on me, I was not sure about him. He had a twisted take on women, justified but twisted. I loved that SH didn't make him a complete dick. He made him likable, in a time when almost all MC books are riddled with "I'm a badass biker, therefore I must be an asshole." Axton was far from that, to me that is. He was honest and upfront with his feelings and was a powerful main character. I guess what I am saying is I appreciate this different take on MC books. I read just about every MC book released. Making the Cut was different and I found it very much to my liking.
There are now 3 books in the series, Taking The Heat, Toad's story and newly released Otis, I am adding them to my collection ASAP!!!!

I am asking you to take a chance with Scott Hildreth's Selected Sinners Series, it's so worth it!
