Sexy Summers by Dani Lovell

Sexy Summers by Dani Lovell
We finally get our Luke and Tilly fix!
Almost four months have passed since Luke and Tilly had their fling in LA. Tilly left for London feeling conflicted with feelings for Luke. Knowing that he was a "bad boy" and not one to get serious or want to be in a relationship. Little did they both know they were left with a huge unexpected gift.
Tilly has her mind made up, NO SEX with Luke when all the families gather in Aspen for the Christmas and New Year holidays. Well, we all know if Luke and Tilly are in the same room, there are going to be some serious sparks, and people we are not let down.
The chemistry is still alive and kicking! Tilly's plans are shot to hell, the first night.
I loved the romance of this book, don't get me wrong we get plenty of HOT Luke and Tilly action but there is so much romance. Miss. Lovell is a pro at writing a story that tug at your heart stings, and then throws in a healthy dose of SEX! HOT SEX, HOT SLICE OF MAN CAKE, LUKE SEX!!!  Is it hot in here?
Luke, is all set to pick up where they left off when Tilly was in LA, even knowing that it became a little hard to see her go. He wants his "fuck buddy" back. But will that be enough? Can he change his ways for Tilly? How will he feel when he learns that she has been keeping secrets from him?
The banter between these two is absolutely priceless...

Luke to Tilly;

"No. Kiss me."
"No! You kiss me!"
"Kiss me mother fucker!" he says and we both burst our laughing.
Seriously, that had me laughing out loud, it was just awesome to see these to hadn't lost their fun!
As serious as this book could have been and it does get there, the fun factor is still very much involved.
Tilly, has secrets that no one is aware of and its getting harder and harder to keep things under wrap. She talks to herself a lot and it really helps us understand the turmoil she is feeling. Guilt is eating at her and she is starting to crack. But what is she going to do? How will Luke feel about the decisions she has made? What are her friends going to think? Is she crazy to think she has a chance to have it all?
Again, Miss. Lovell gives us a supporting cast that we LOVED in Sexy Berkeley and they do not let us down at all. We see that Daniel and Bea are happy as ever... *sigh*. Clare is still a bit of a mystery to me, but I like that. And people can I just say that I am IN LOVE WITH Oliver. He steps up in a BIG way and I literally swooned while reading it... OH OLLY!!!!!
I promise you will be taken on an emotional journey. You will laugh, love and cry! YES, I said cry. I had said I didn't cry while reading this and then upon discussing the book with friends, I remembered, I did and NO, I CAN NOT TELL YOU WHY! But I am sure when you read Sexy Summers you will take that roller-coaster ride right along side of me.
By the way, if you are expecting another Sexy Berkley, you will not be disappointed. But Luke and Tilly's path isn't as pretty and I LOVE that she did something different.
We are treated to a glimpse of what I am going to go ahead and say, will be Clare and Oliver's story and I can not FREAKING WAIT!!!!
Sexy Summers by Dani Lovell, gets a healthy 5 clocks...

a very special "thank you" to Kathy Lee Herbst

The highly anticipated follow up to Sexy Berkeley.
The story of Luke and Tilly
to be released very soon!!!

OK, OK so I have been a very selfish blogger here of late. I was so engrossed in all my reading, I have not been blogging lately... So here is a rundown of what I have been reading.
Warning: This is not a virtuous and tender love story. It’s chaotic, ruthless, and tragic. This story takes love and kills its innocence, steals away the pure moments, and crushes the hearts of the broken. A story born in childhood, tying one girl to one boy, leads to a destructive path—that hurts more than it doesn’t, that shatters more than it heals—testing the love that binds the two through a lifetime.

Tegen Matthews is the daughter of Dorothy Kelley, a club whore in the Hell’s Horsemen. A plain little girl, Tegen falls into the gritty world of the motorcycle club. When she meets a sweet, caring boy, she embraces the warmth and affection he shows her. Cage West is the son of the president of the Hell’s Horsemen. Tall and blond with deep brown eyes, as he grows up Cage realizes the power of his dimpled smile and smooth drawl. With one chance encounter, Tegen becomes forever tied to Cage. Following is a wayward journey that is filled with regrets, mistakes, and heartache, pulling at the threads that hold them together. Cage and Tegen fight hard but love harder, and in the end, what matters is where the journey takes one girl and one boy, who have been twined with one another since the beginning.

This is Tegen and Cage’s story.

Love doesn’t erase a broken heart, and it sure doesn’t change people. But no matter how old, how flimsy, how frayed the rope of love is, it keeps you tethered to the people you love.~
Seriously if you are not into the Undeniable series by Madeline Sheehan, you ARE MISSING OUT! This is one of the BEST series out there.
Unattainable is just an emotional kick in the ass! I swear I don't know how she does this EVERY TIME. It's gritty, serious, heartbreaking and lovely all wrapped up in one freaking awesome book!
Personally, I think Dirty and Ellie stole the show in this one. It could have been just a book about their situation and I would have still LOVED it. BUT NOOOO, we get two stories in one.
I was so expecting this to nothing but Tegen and Cage and their journey. Don't get me wrong we do get that, but Madeline being the genius she is pulls everyone into the mix. That is her brilliance she has this freaking amazing supporting cast that are equally as pivotal as the leading characters.
Tegen is a little shit, and I like her for that. Not one to be a push over, she challenges Cage and pushes him to the breaking point. He wants her and she is not one to be "owned" so what is a alpha man to do? Fight her and make her see that he is the man for her...
Of course we get a dose of Deuce, and in typical fashion he bully's his way in and makes a mess.
Dirty's story, is just heartbreaking ... I was TOTALLY thrown by his situation. I was so emotionally invested in his story, I actually forgot this wasn't his full length book. OHH, and Ellie, god she was so loving and committed to seeing him through... GOD IT WAS SO FREAKING AMAZING!!!!
and Blue~ I am leaving it at that....GO READ THIS BOOK AND SERIES!!!!!!!

 Hell's Knights by Bella Jewel

I thought I knew sex. I've had sex. Heck, I've felt lust. Once, I've even felt love. I thought I knew exactly what sex was.

Until I met Cade.

He's the meaning of sex.

He's a biker.

He's dangerous.

He's powerful.

He's dominant.

He wants me.

My world is about to change, for the better? I don't know. But here's my story, I hope you're ready for it because it's not the beautiful, heart wrenching story most people have to tell. It's passionate, forbidden, morally incorrect and downright, fucking beautiful.

OMG! I could NOT put this down! What a freaking ride! Talk about emotional upheaval, I was so invested in Addison and Cade that I WANT MORE!
This is not a pretty read at all, there is death, rape, drugs, gun slinging bad asses and a very lost young lady searching for a father she has never known. OHHH, I just loved Jackson! Am I alone  on that ?
Addison's life has been an ugly one, a mother who was a whore and a long lost father. Events leading up to her decision to leave/run are just heartbreaking. I loved her, she was not your usual "doe eyed, innocent leading lady" and I really liked that about her. She was damaged but was looking for something better...enter Cade.
Cade being the badass that he is sees Addi and wants her, no problem for this player right? Nope, Addi calls him on his shit upon their first meeting. It was AWESOME!
Pasts come back to haunt both Addi and Cade and we find out that they are both broken and need to be fixed. We also meet Spike, he is another broken man who is just surviving and not living. Addi is on a mission to find out more about this biker from a rival MC , and this does NOT sit well with Cade. I loved the dynamic of these three, I am looking forward to reading Heaven's Sinners to see what is in store for Spike.
I am not going to go into too much detail about this story, because I WANT YOU to read it. But I have to close with my favorite line of the book:
Addison to Cade~  "Kill him, Cade. Make it count."
I read that and literally got the chills, and when a book does that, I give it 5 clocks!!!!

                  Broken Hart by Ella Fox
Sabrina Tyler is head over heels in love with her boss and best friend, Dante Hart. She thinks that Dante has no romantic interest in her but she's wrong.

Dante doesn't believe in love or commitment or any kind. Sabrina has gotten under his skin, but Dante has no intention of acting on it.

One wild night changes their relationship forever, but Dante lacks faith in love and doesn't believe in Happily Ever Afters.

Can Sabrina break through and fix what's broken in Dante Hart?
This book had been suggested to me awhile ago and I of course bought it and well forgot about it.
HOLY HOTNESS, I had no idea what I was missing. I opened this bad boy yesterday early morning and well I was finished yesterday evening!!!
I love Dante and Sabrina's, aka "Rina" friendship. I mean we all knew she was "feelin" Dante as soon as she laid eyes on him, but I just loved how beautiful the friendship was.
This is such a beautiful love story, I mean it really is... they love each other as friends with both of them knowing its so much more, but unwilling to admit it.
The Hart family has a very ugly past and they all, Damien, Delilah, Dominique and Dante are afraid of getting close, but they accept Sabrina and Brooke Tyler into their family.
Dante is, in his eyes a very broken man, afraid of repeating his parents mistakes, he believes his life has to be lived without feeling love and commitment.
Sabrina, comes from a family of nothing but love and compassion. She wants the perfect picture of a husband, house and kids. Could this ever be Dante? Could he get over his issues and see that she loves him and accept that he is capable of loving her?
I am going to just put it out there... This was one of the HOTTEST reads I have read in a very long time... I was blown away by the love scenes and that is saying a lot! My GWAD, it was
Sexy, passion filled and flippin' SMOKIN' HOT!!!!
It does not take from the story at ALL. It doesn't cheapen it in the least. It gives you insight to what makes Dante tick. The awakening of Sabrina's inner sex pot, is awesome.... The SEX SCENES in this book, are raw, dirty and just fucking amazing! I know that is very rude of me, but ladies, if that is your thing, and I will be the first to admit it (standing up, fist raised saying) "IT'S MY KIND OF THING"  then read this book!!!
Broken Hart by Ella Fox gets 5 clocks!!!!

Rockwell's Lady by AC Wilson

Rockwell's Lady
by AC Wilson

An adventurous, self-gratifying rake, Lord Rockwell has been given an ultimatum by his grandfather. Either he marries within a month or his security and finances are stripped. Rockwell sets his sights on Lady Vanessa Rutherford, his childhood sweetheart, even as he obtains her help to find the perfect bride. Discovering he is also a father to a son brings up better forgotten memories.
Well it was bound to happen sometime, and I finally did it, and I did it with AC Wilson's Rockwell's Lady... I am no longer a "historical romance virgin", there I admitted it. I was always intimidated by this style of writing, I thought it would be full of "hence forth, thee, thou art to".. you get the point. When in actuality it was very easy to read and understand.
I found this to be quite enjoyable, I liked that it was actual romance, no horrible tortured characters, no brutality...quite refreshing.
"V" was really a pretty great leading lady, she has loved Lord Rockwell since she was 14 years old, that has not changed. Imagine her shock when he comes calling only to ask her to help him find a bride. How can V help the man she loves find someone other than herself to be with him? Can she forget about his past even when it comes crashing back down on them? With a father who is no fan of Lord Rockwell's do they even stand a chance?
Lord Rockwell, I really didn't want to like him, he made me mad from just the prolog. He suffered a devastating loss as a child and was taken from V, but now he is back and with a plan. Will his past as a "rake" make it hard for V to believe he is a changed man or will his past come back to haunt him? Her father is an obstacle that he must overcome, to get his one true love back.
The loved that  this book had a message... Even if it was written to depict a time period, the message is loud and clear... and NO, I am not going to tell you what it is. I know, I know but it really is worth the read to find out.
I did enjoy this book and for my very first time, you never know I just might dip my toe back into this genre....
I am giving Rockwell's Lady 3 clocks.

Driven and K Bromberg

                                                        Driven & Fueled
by K. Bromberg

Rylee Thomas is used to being in control. But she’s about to meet the one man that just might make her enjoy losing it…

I am the exception to the rule.

In a world full of willing women, I’m a challenge to the roguish and achingly handsome Colton Donavan. A man used to getting exactly what he wants in all aspects of life. He’s the reckless bad boy constantly skating that razor thin edge toward out of control, on and off of the track.

Colton crashes into my life like a tornado: sapping my control, testing my vulnerabilities beyond their limits, and unintentionally penetrating the protective wall around my healing heart. Tearing apart the world I rebuilt so carefully with structure, predictability, and discipline.

I can’t give him what he wants and he can’t give me what I need. But after a glimpse beneath his refined exterior into the dark secrets of his damaged soul, can I bring myself to walk away?

Our sexual chemistry is undeniable. Our individual need for complete control is irrefutable. But when our worlds collide, is the chemistry enough to bring us together or will our untold secrets and battle of wills force us apart?

Colton stole my heart. He wasn't supposed to, and I sure as hell didn't want him to, but he crashed into my life, ignited feelings within me that I thought had died forever, and fueled a passion that I never knew could exist.

Rylee fell out of that damn storage closet and into my life. Now I don't think I'll ever be the same. She's seen glimpses of the darkness within me, and yet she's still here. Still fighting for me. She is without a doubt the saint, and I am most definitely the sinner.

How is it the one thing neither of us wanted—neither of us anticipated that fateful night—has us fighting so hard to keep?He steals my breath, stops my heart, and brings me back to life again all in a split second of time. But how can I love a man who won't let me in? Who continually pushes me away to prevent me from seeing the damaged secrets in his past? My heart has fallen, but patience and forgiveness can only go so far.

How can I desire a woman who unnerves me, defies me, and forces me to see that in the deep, black abyss of my soul there's someone worthy of her love? A place and person I swore I'd never be again. Her selfless heart and sexy body deserve so much more than I'll ever be capable of giving her. I know I can't be what she needs, so why can't I just let her go?

We are driven by need and fueled with desire, but is that enough for us to crash into love?

OK, so I am obsessed with this series!! Seriously these are so freakin' good... GO GET THEM!!! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR...GO
The third one, Crashed is due out at the end of the year or the beginning of 2014.....
What an emotional rollercoaster, they have it all, drama, tortured pasts, skanky ex's,  jealously, fast cars, fame, children in need, best friends and holy shit, HOT as HELL SEX!!!
K Bromberg wrote 2 fantastic books and I am chomping at the bit for Crashed...

Deceitfully Yours by Bethany Bazile

Deceitfully Yours
by Bethany Bazile

Jude Baxter knows instantly that he wants Kylie in his bed. What he didn't realize is that she's everything he's been looking for. When lust turns into love, Jude puts everything on the line to make Kylie his.

Kylie Weber manipulates situations to get what she needs from men, but Jude knocks her off her game. Jude is unexpected and exciting. Kylie soon finds herself erotically entangled in Jude chains and rope, but worst of all she's gotten her heart entangled in this very dynamic man.

Will the secret she keeps from him cost her everything she never knew she needed?

When I started this book, I will be honest I had a hard time getting that "OTHER" BDSM book out of my mind. The location, the powerful man, his boat, driver, loving family and his knack for wheedling out a punishment were very familiar. BUT that is where the similarities end. This is a really good story.

Jude is man who gets what he wants and he wants Kylie. He saver her from his aggressive driver and instantly is in her good graces. But the warnings he gets from his driver Raul are close to the back of his mind. What is it about this woman that has him so interested?  I really loved the fact that Jude was all kink and not tortured, that was refreshing. Hey, just gets off on being a DOM and not a dark, twisted soul....NICE....

Kylie, has been alone most of her life, her only family is her best friend Stacia and a brother that she does not know. Then there is Mason, her "boss" and she hates, loathes and despise him. She is trapped in working for him, walking away is not an option.
It was very interesting to learn about her life and why she stayed in the situation she was in. Kylie is taken by Jude immediately, and I mean that literally ! She fights his need to dominate her, but secretly she loves it and always gives in. Jude is falling, Kylie is falling but will love be enough?
The sex scenes are HOTTTT and SO GOOD! Really well written, although sometime I had to reread a scene one more time to make sure I could visually figure out how it was possible...but hey, that did not bother me AT ALL.

The plot twist for me was very original... I really enjoyed it. There were discoveries that made Kylie extremely happy and some that could ruin what she and Jude have build. She was desperately trying to get out from under Mason and the last thing he asked her to do could ruin all of it.

I really loved that this was a standalone, beginning , middle and END , just the way I like them. We do get the set up for Stacia's story and I have a feeling that its going to be just as good. We meet Jax through Jude, and once he lays eyes on Stacia he wants her, he has to OWN her....

Safe in His Arms by Renee Rose

Safe In His Arms by Renee Rose

Becca has dreamed of a dominant man to take her in hand, and Zac, the handsome Marine she met at her sister's wedding, filled the role with aplomb… for a weekend. Then the fling came to an end, Zac went off to war and died for his country, and Becca learned she carried a child who would be born without a father.

Seven years later, Becca has done her best to move on and forget about Zac… until the day she walks into her kitchen to find the man she believed she would never see again locked in mortal combat with her son’s nanny, and realizes everything she thought she knew about Zac was a lie.

Like all Black Ops agents, Zac doesn't exist in any government record. His life is a series of deadly missions, and relationships of any kind are unsanctioned. But he keeps one secret. He watches over Becca, the beautiful daughter of a rogue agent, and Parker, the six-year-old boy he fathered that fateful weekend. When he spots a known assassin in their apartment posing as a nanny, he's forced to reveal himself and take them to safety… whether Becca likes it or not.

While Becca may have enjoyed his dominance once, bending her to his will again may not be quite so easy. He is determined to keep her safe, however, and if a long, hard spanking is required, he is more than willing to oblige. Having Becca over his knee rekindles more than his passion, though; even when the immediate danger has passed, he finds it much more difficult to “ghost out” on his family again. Must he resign himself to protecting those he loves from afar, or can he find a way to be the man Becca needs and longs for, the man who is worthy of her submission and her love?~
Well spank my ass and call me Charlie, WOW... this is pretty HOT!!! I was hooked while reading the Prolog ...
The whole plot of this book was intriguing to me... a woman with a spanking fetish, HOT as hell Black Ops, missing father, twists and turns... awesome!
A weekend fling results in the birth of her son and longing for a man believed dead. Becca has done everything right, raising her son to the best of her ability, working a job she loves and playing both mom and dad to Parker.
When Zac reenters their lives, Becca is thrown into a world she didn't know existed. With Zac its more secrets than truths, appearing, disappearing and a release of a desire long hidden.
He has protected and provided secretly for years for his family. He knows its forbidden to contact them, but his need to keep them safe wins. Believed dead when Becca finds Zac in her apartment kicking her nanny's ass...well deserved by the way. The shock and panic set in leading to a massive asthma attack, Zac wastes no time and whisks them away to a safe house.
I really liked that we didn't have to sit through page after page waiting for answers... I am an instant gratification kinda gal so I appreciated this very much.
I swore I had this "mystery" figured out... I knew who the bad guy was, I just knew it...WRONG!
I really didn't expect to see it played out that way. I was a bit bothered by how fast it came to a head and was finished, I just wanted more. Honestly I can't tell you if it was because the plot twist and turns were so good or if it was the HOT AS HELL spanking scenes.   AND PEOPLE THEY WERE GOOOOOD!!!!
Becca was trying to trust Zac, but with his constant leaving this was very hard for her. So what's a gal to do? Taking matters into her own hands Becca hatches a plan she knows how to draw him out, since he watches every move she makes. The plan backfires and she ends up with a very sore ass! Becca had no doubt she could love him, but can you really love a ghost?
I am trying my best to not spoil this for anyone but its hard (insert whining voice here). I love the Parker, Zac connection, this little boy was written so well.
I don't know call me crazy, but I just really got into this book! it was a quick read, would have loved for it to be longer, but that is just my selfish spanking fetish talking....
I will be visiting Renee Rose's site to get more books... you can bet your sore backside on that!
I am giving Safe in His Arms 3 solid clocks

Wild Child.. by Molly O'Keefe

Wild Child by Molly O'Keefe

~Monica Appleby is a woman with a reputation. Once she was America’s teenage “Wild Child,” with her own reality TV show. Now she’s a successful author coming home to Bishop, Arkansas, to pen the juicy follow-up to her tell-all autobiography. Problem is, the hottest man in town wants her gone. Mayor Jackson Davies is trying to convince a cookie giant to move its headquarters to his crumbling community, and Monica’s presence is just too . . . unwholesome for business. But the desire in his eyes sends a very different message: Stay, at least for a while.

Jackson needs this cookie deal to go through. His town is dying and this may be its last shot. Monica is a distraction proving too sweet, too inviting—and completely beyond his control. With every kiss he can taste her loneliness, her regrets, and her longing. Soon their uncontrollable attraction is causing all kinds of drama. But when two lost hearts take a surprise detour onto the bumpy road of unexpected love, it can only lead someplace wonderful.~

Here I thought I was getting Monica's story, I was pleasantly surprised that we were also getting Jackson's. I loved the fact that Monica was trying to change her image and wanting people to understand that she was not this "WILD CHILD" any longer. Jackson just wants to be free of the responsibility of being Mayor of this struggling town and his younger sister Gwen, (whom I LOVE!) He longs to be "wild and carefree" he needs to have fun and let go.

The attraction is immediate and undeniable, it's not very often we get actual honest to god flirting. From the moment they meet, you know these two need each other. Jackson has to get this cookie company to come to town and Monica is a distraction he does not need...but wants!
Jackson gets in Monica's head and begins to understand the pain she has endured for years, the uncertainty of her past and her quest for answers.
When Monica's mother comes to town with a camera crew in tow, she is thrown into the madness again and Jackson is her escape, leading to a passionate filled affair. I LOVED the bath tube scene, holy hotness!

I really enjoyed the fact that we see Monica grow and take a stand, has she finally found the place she needs to be? A home? ... it was lovely to see the change in her.
Jackson is stuck in constantly wanting to do what's best for everyone else, putting himself last and believing he will be happy ....ONE DAY.  He is working so hard to save this town, will he miss the one piece that will lead him to his happiness? With all the pressure he faces will he let love slip through his hands?

I have to say for me, Gwen was the highlight of this book! She could easily have a standalone story, that is how spot on she was written!
I could have done without Creepy Dean! The part he played was interesting, I literally "LOL" when he got his on live TV!!!!
My ONLY issue was how quickly this was wrapped up ...sometimes we need a story with a truly Happy Ending....

All in all I really enjoyed Wild Child. This was my first time reading Molly O'Keefe and I really like her writing style. I will be checking out past and future book of hers and recommending it to readers.

Shade of Pearl, Shadows of Pearl and Shimmers of Pearl...The Pearl Trilogy by Arianne Richmonde

Shades of Pearl Trilogy by Arianne Richmonde

~Blurbs for The Pearl Trilogy~

Pearl Robinson, is a beautiful and smart documentary producer. She's forty, divorced and single and hasn't even had a date for over two years. She has given up on love.

When she hears about Alexandre Chevalier, a young French, Internet billionaire, she assumes he's a geek who wears a hoodie and keeps pet rats in his bedroom. How wrong she is! She bumps into him face to face and is stunned by his charm, beauty and sophistication, and startled by her strong feelings and desire for a man fifteen years her junior. His looks, wealth and worldwide triumph with his social media site, HookedUp, means he can get any woman he chooses, but there is something about Pearl he finds irresistible...

The couple begins a passionate affair and Pearl's body is awakened in ways she never imagined possible. She is consumed by him and his magical touch. But dark secrets, jealous family members and other external forces are threatening to pull them apart.
                                      Book #2 The Pearl Trilogy.
Pearl Robinson feels like the luckiest woman in the world. In just a couple of months she is to be married to the man she's head over heels in love with: the wonderful and charismatic Alexandre Chevalier, fifteen years her junior and founder of the billion dollar social media sensation, HookedUp.

She is planning a white winter wedding in Lapland - the stuff that dreams are made of. Everything is perfect, not least her haute couture wedding gown designed especially for her.

But Pearl is convinced that Alexandre's sister and business partner, Sophie Dumas, has other, darker ideas.

And the shadows of Pearl's past come back to haunt her in ways she could never have imagined...
Book #3 of The Pearl Trilogy. Make sure you have read parts 1 and 2 first, Shades of Pearl and Shadows of Pearl.

Pearl Robinson's life was teetering on the edge of perfection. Everything was about to blossom, not least a marriage made in Heaven with her fiancé, Alexandre Chevalier - the kindest, sexiest, most handsome man she could ever have wished for.

But her own insecurities, fears and murky shadows from her past led her to make certain choices that could change the course of her fate altogether.

Pearl now finds herself alone and bereft, a victim of unexpected Deceit. She has been lied to... tricked. But by whom?

The decision is hers. Should she trust the man she loves? Can she accept his past which threatens their future? And will the dark secrets he finally reveals meld them together as one, or split them apart once and for all?

To start with I must say this series is HOT HOT HOTT!!!! I spent the entire day in bed reading all 3 of these books... is that sad or awesome? I can't decide...
I was really into the idea of the much older woman and younger man idea behind this book. I loved that Pearl was very successful and was standing on her own two feet, wobbly as they were she was standing strong and making it work.

Alexandre Chevalier, why OH why does this man only exist in books? His dashing good looks, his French accent and manners totally sweep Pearl off her feet. He is only 25 but has a very old soul. He is immediately taken by Pearl and she is equally taken by him. They spent time together and there is an instant connection. I was a bit (not much) put off by how fast they fall into a conversation about sex, but I could easily put that aside.

I do love me an aggressive man and boy is Alexandre,  there is no question what he wants when he shows up at Pearl's door and she is more than willing to give it to him. I see no problem here.
At first Pearl is a bit of a push over, giving in a lot, not that I could blame her, but still I wished for more of a back bone. As the books went on, especially in the 2&3rd,  we see her getting stronger and coming into her own.  Alexandre is a French man who's ego gets to be a bit much at times, but Pearl never misses a chance to call him on it.
I found myself HATING Sophie, at one point I had to put the book down because she pissed me off so bad.. now, that's good writing! She was way to possessive of her brother, and he just wouldn't stand up to her, DROVE ME NUTS! I just KNEW she was up to no good...

Outside forces and pasts come back to haunt Alexandre and Pearl, causing a truck load of problems...Pearl is facing a violent past that rears its head and she needs time to process it.  A brutal past comes into play regarding Alexandre and he has to take matters into his own hands to make sure those he loves are not hurt, even if it means having to let go of Pearl. (which he never really does.)  Pearl stands her ground, making sure he knows she is not going to play second fiddle to his ex Laura (bitch) I LOVED this!
I really can't go into a lot of detail because I really want you to read this series and see the plot twists... I am telling you I did NOT see it coming.

All in all I really liked this series and would recommend it to my fellow "bookies", I thought the first book was rather short, but it was ok, knowing that the other two followed.

side note: if you are going to buy this series, look for the complete collection on amazon. It is much cheaper to get them all, then to buy them one at a time... Like I did!
