I, sometimes like a book that takes me on a journey and in a round about way it takes quite awhile to get to the point, which works. But sometimes there are these stories that just get straight to point. They grab you by the throat and drag you into a steaming hot place, that you are in no hurry to leave. That is this collection of shorts!
Aria, is a mystery. She has issues with her family. She has walked away and we don't know why. She loves and keeps in contact with her sister, but that is all. What is she hiding? Aria, is a strong woman who is determined to make it on her own, with no help. Even if she has to live in the "hood" and work as a cocktail waitress, when she has a degree from Vassar. What could make her just walk away?
Sebastian, has worked far away from his fathers business for a long time. He had no intention of ever running a casino. But do to his fathers health, here he is ... He is a man with a hidden past and not willing to share. He is dark, sexy but has a kind heart. Sebastian takes notice of Aria one night as she is defending another waitress against a handsy "whale" in the High Roller section of the casino. Events happen and they come face to face and well, the meeting is met with explosive results.
This series just worked so well for me. It's been awhile since something has grabbed my attention as much as these 5 books did. The mystery as to why Aria was all alone and why Sebastian was so control driven, were written so well. You were left wondering, but not for hundreds and hundreds of pages. Maybe it's because I am an instant gratification kinda gal. It was just such an easy, fantastic read. The story flowed and I went from one book to the next. I could not stop, I had to know what happened.
This is such a sexy collection of stories. It. Is. HOT! I mean it, blush inducing HOT. Fanning, ones self HOT. To say Aria and Sebastian had chemistry would be the understatement of the decade. SMOKIN' !!!
I am super excited to see what role Sebastian and Aria play in the Ethan Frost trilogy. Sebastian and Ethan are friends and have a mutual enemy. In my head, my dream story would be. Ethan and Sebastian destroy Brandon and Carlo and we get to watch it all unfold. I want those men to be taken apart for hurting the women Ethan and Sebastian love..... Oh! the plotting, planning, destruction and eventual decimation... See, I am so excited!
Really, together these make for a really great book. But add in the fact that we will get some more of them in Ethan Frost's book Exposed, I am super STOKED!
Loved them, love Ms. Wolff's writing and I will be back for more!!!
