Hot Mess (A Hostile Operations Team Novella) by Lynn Raye Harris...review by Dawn

~blurb~

English professor Dr. Georgeanne Hayes has a problem. Her star pupil, an Army sergeant who works in a Top Secret government program, is missing—and someone tried to push her in front of a train last night.

Sam “Knight Rider” McKnight is used to looking out for Georgie. When they were kids, she was just his best friend’s baby sister. But Georgie’s not a baby anymore and Sam is getting some very male—and very dirty—thoughts about the girl he knows he can never have.

When someone threatens Georgie’s life again, Sam will do anything necessary to keep her safe. Even if it means spending the next few days locked up in a remote house on Maryland’s Eastern Shore with her.

Sam might be used to denying himself what he wants, but he’s about to find out that being cooped up with Georgie will push him to the limit. And maybe beyond.

I am usually not a fan of "the novella" so I thought I would give this a try, since it was sent to me by a publisher. People, I really liked it!! It was a complete story, even if it was 33,000 words.

Sam and Georgeanne "Georgie" chemistry was awesome! Sam the best friend of her, very protective older brother and the guy she always lusted after. He never thought he was good enough for the country club life, her family led. He left and joined the military.

Georgie, did it all right, college, marriage to the perfect man, she was the princess of the family. Until she caught her perfect husband cheating on her. With her self-esteem taking a huge hit, Georgie dives into her career, as a college prof.

Sam and Georgie are thrown together when a student from her class has gone missing and the bad guys think she knows more than she is saying. Sam, takes it upon himself to be her protector... and that is where the fun begins....
Georgie, is not letting Sam look at her like a "little sister" anymore! She makes her intentions clear and Sam can't help but react to her and it gets HOTT!!!!!!

Really for a novella I felt this was a pretty good one! I did hate that the bad guys, just kind of went away. But this is a series so hopefully they will make an appearance in the next books!
I am giving Hot Mess 3.5 clocks...
