Deceitfully Yours by Bethany Bazile

Deceitfully Yours
by Bethany Bazile

 ~Blurb~
Jude Baxter knows instantly that he wants Kylie in his bed. What he didn't realize is that she's everything he's been looking for. When lust turns into love, Jude puts everything on the line to make Kylie his.

Kylie Weber manipulates situations to get what she needs from men, but Jude knocks her off her game. Jude is unexpected and exciting. Kylie soon finds herself erotically entangled in Jude chains and rope, but worst of all she's gotten her heart entangled in this very dynamic man.

Will the secret she keeps from him cost her everything she never knew she needed?

When I started this book, I will be honest I had a hard time getting that "OTHER" BDSM book out of my mind. The location, the powerful man, his boat, driver, loving family and his knack for wheedling out a punishment were very familiar. BUT that is where the similarities end. This is a really good story.

Jude is man who gets what he wants and he wants Kylie. He saver her from his aggressive driver and instantly is in her good graces. But the warnings he gets from his driver Raul are close to the back of his mind. What is it about this woman that has him so interested?  I really loved the fact that Jude was all kink and not tortured, that was refreshing. Hey, just gets off on being a DOM and not a dark, twisted soul....NICE....

Kylie, has been alone most of her life, her only family is her best friend Stacia and a brother that she does not know. Then there is Mason, her "boss" and she hates, loathes and despise him. She is trapped in working for him, walking away is not an option.
It was very interesting to learn about her life and why she stayed in the situation she was in. Kylie is taken by Jude immediately, and I mean that literally ! She fights his need to dominate her, but secretly she loves it and always gives in. Jude is falling, Kylie is falling but will love be enough?
The sex scenes are HOTTTT and SO GOOD! Really well written, although sometime I had to reread a scene one more time to make sure I could visually figure out how it was possible...but hey, that did not bother me AT ALL.

The plot twist for me was very original... I really enjoyed it. There were discoveries that made Kylie extremely happy and some that could ruin what she and Jude have build. She was desperately trying to get out from under Mason and the last thing he asked her to do could ruin all of it.

I really loved that this was a standalone, beginning , middle and END , just the way I like them. We do get the set up for Stacia's story and I have a feeling that its going to be just as good. We meet Jax through Jude, and once he lays eyes on Stacia he wants her, he has to OWN her....

Safe in His Arms by Renee Rose

Safe In His Arms by Renee Rose

~blurb~

Becca has dreamed of a dominant man to take her in hand, and Zac, the handsome Marine she met at her sister's wedding, filled the role with aplomb… for a weekend. Then the fling came to an end, Zac went off to war and died for his country, and Becca learned she carried a child who would be born without a father.

Seven years later, Becca has done her best to move on and forget about Zac… until the day she walks into her kitchen to find the man she believed she would never see again locked in mortal combat with her son’s nanny, and realizes everything she thought she knew about Zac was a lie.

Like all Black Ops agents, Zac doesn't exist in any government record. His life is a series of deadly missions, and relationships of any kind are unsanctioned. But he keeps one secret. He watches over Becca, the beautiful daughter of a rogue agent, and Parker, the six-year-old boy he fathered that fateful weekend. When he spots a known assassin in their apartment posing as a nanny, he's forced to reveal himself and take them to safety… whether Becca likes it or not.

While Becca may have enjoyed his dominance once, bending her to his will again may not be quite so easy. He is determined to keep her safe, however, and if a long, hard spanking is required, he is more than willing to oblige. Having Becca over his knee rekindles more than his passion, though; even when the immediate danger has passed, he finds it much more difficult to “ghost out” on his family again. Must he resign himself to protecting those he loves from afar, or can he find a way to be the man Becca needs and longs for, the man who is worthy of her submission and her love?~

Well spank my ass and call me Charlie, WOW... this is pretty HOT!!! I was hooked while reading the Prolog ...

The whole plot of this book was intriguing to me... a woman with a spanking fetish, HOT as hell Black Ops, missing father, twists and turns... awesome!

A weekend fling results in the birth of her son and longing for a man believed dead. Becca has done everything right, raising her son to the best of her ability, working a job she loves and playing both mom and dad to Parker.

When Zac reenters their lives, Becca is thrown into a world she didn't know existed. With Zac its more secrets than truths, appearing, disappearing and a release of a desire long hidden.
He has protected and provided secretly for years for his family. He knows its forbidden to contact them, but his need to keep them safe wins. Believed dead when Becca finds Zac in her apartment kicking her nanny's ass...well deserved by the way. The shock and panic set in leading to a massive asthma attack, Zac wastes no time and whisks them away to a safe house.
I really liked that we didn't have to sit through page after page waiting for answers... I am an instant gratification kinda gal so I appreciated this very much.

I swore I had this "mystery" figured out... I knew who the bad guy was, I just knew it...WRONG!
I really didn't expect to see it played out that way. I was a bit bothered by how fast it came to a head and was finished, I just wanted more. Honestly I can't tell you if it was because the plot twist and turns were so good or if it was the HOT AS HELL spanking scenes.   AND PEOPLE THEY WERE GOOOOOD!!!!
Becca was trying to trust Zac, but with his constant leaving this was very hard for her. So what's a gal to do? Taking matters into her own hands Becca hatches a plan she knows how to draw him out, since he watches every move she makes. The plan backfires and she ends up with a very sore ass! Becca had no doubt she could love him, but can you really love a ghost?

I am trying my best to not spoil this for anyone but its hard (insert whining voice here). I love the Parker, Zac connection, this little boy was written so well.

I don't know call me crazy, but I just really got into this book! it was a quick read, would have loved for it to be longer, but that is just my selfish spanking fetish talking....
I will be visiting Renee Rose's site to get more books... you can bet your sore backside on that!

Wild Child.. by Molly O'Keefe

Wild Child by Molly O'Keefe

Blurb
~Monica Appleby is a woman with a reputation. Once she was America’s teenage “Wild Child,” with her own reality TV show. Now she’s a successful author coming home to Bishop, Arkansas, to pen the juicy follow-up to her tell-all autobiography. Problem is, the hottest man in town wants her gone. Mayor Jackson Davies is trying to convince a cookie giant to move its headquarters to his crumbling community, and Monica’s presence is just too . . . unwholesome for business. But the desire in his eyes sends a very different message: Stay, at least for a while.

Jackson needs this cookie deal to go through. His town is dying and this may be its last shot. Monica is a distraction proving too sweet, too inviting—and completely beyond his control. With every kiss he can taste her loneliness, her regrets, and her longing. Soon their uncontrollable attraction is causing all kinds of drama. But when two lost hearts take a surprise detour onto the bumpy road of unexpected love, it can only lead someplace wonderful.~

Here I thought I was getting Monica's story, I was pleasantly surprised that we were also getting Jackson's. I loved the fact that Monica was trying to change her image and wanting people to understand that she was not this "WILD CHILD" any longer. Jackson just wants to be free of the responsibility of being Mayor of this struggling town and his younger sister Gwen, (whom I LOVE!) He longs to be "wild and carefree" he needs to have fun and let go.

The attraction is immediate and undeniable, it's not very often we get actual honest to god flirting. From the moment they meet, you know these two need each other. Jackson has to get this cookie company to come to town and Monica is a distraction he does not need...but wants!
Jackson gets in Monica's head and begins to understand the pain she has endured for years, the uncertainty of her past and her quest for answers.
When Monica's mother comes to town with a camera crew in tow, she is thrown into the madness again and Jackson is her escape, leading to a passionate filled affair. I LOVED the bath tube scene, holy hotness!

I really enjoyed the fact that we see Monica grow and take a stand, has she finally found the place she needs to be? A home? ... it was lovely to see the change in her.
Jackson is stuck in constantly wanting to do what's best for everyone else, putting himself last and believing he will be happy ....ONE DAY.  He is working so hard to save this town, will he miss the one piece that will lead him to his happiness? With all the pressure he faces will he let love slip through his hands?

I have to say for me, Gwen was the highlight of this book! She could easily have a standalone story, that is how spot on she was written!
I could have done without Creepy Dean! The part he played was interesting, I literally "LOL" when he got his on live TV!!!!
My ONLY issue was how quickly this was wrapped up ...sometimes we need a story with a truly Happy Ending....

All in all I really enjoyed Wild Child. This was my first time reading Molly O'Keefe and I really like her writing style. I will be checking out past and future book of hers and recommending it to readers.

Shade of Pearl, Shadows of Pearl and Shimmers of Pearl...The Pearl Trilogy by Arianne Richmonde

Shades of Pearl Trilogy by Arianne Richmonde

~Blurbs for The Pearl Trilogy~

Pearl Robinson, is a beautiful and smart documentary producer. She's forty, divorced and single and hasn't even had a date for over two years. She has given up on love.

When she hears about Alexandre Chevalier, a young French, Internet billionaire, she assumes he's a geek who wears a hoodie and keeps pet rats in his bedroom. How wrong she is! She bumps into him face to face and is stunned by his charm, beauty and sophistication, and startled by her strong feelings and desire for a man fifteen years her junior. His looks, wealth and worldwide triumph with his social media site, HookedUp, means he can get any woman he chooses, but there is something about Pearl he finds irresistible...

The couple begins a passionate affair and Pearl's body is awakened in ways she never imagined possible. She is consumed by him and his magical touch. But dark secrets, jealous family members and other external forces are threatening to pull them apart.

                                      Book #2 The Pearl Trilogy.
Pearl Robinson feels like the luckiest woman in the world. In just a couple of months she is to be married to the man she's head over heels in love with: the wonderful and charismatic Alexandre Chevalier, fifteen years her junior and founder of the billion dollar social media sensation, HookedUp.

She is planning a white winter wedding in Lapland - the stuff that dreams are made of. Everything is perfect, not least her haute couture wedding gown designed especially for her.

But Pearl is convinced that Alexandre's sister and business partner, Sophie Dumas, has other, darker ideas.

And the shadows of Pearl's past come back to haunt her in ways she could never have imagined...

Book #3 of The Pearl Trilogy. Make sure you have read parts 1 and 2 first, Shades of Pearl and Shadows of Pearl.

Pearl Robinson's life was teetering on the edge of perfection. Everything was about to blossom, not least a marriage made in Heaven with her fiancé, Alexandre Chevalier - the kindest, sexiest, most handsome man she could ever have wished for.

But her own insecurities, fears and murky shadows from her past led her to make certain choices that could change the course of her fate altogether.

Pearl now finds herself alone and bereft, a victim of unexpected Deceit. She has been lied to... tricked. But by whom?

The decision is hers. Should she trust the man she loves? Can she accept his past which threatens their future? And will the dark secrets he finally reveals meld them together as one, or split them apart once and for all?

To start with I must say this series is HOT HOT HOTT!!!! I spent the entire day in bed reading all 3 of these books... is that sad or awesome? I can't decide...
I was really into the idea of the much older woman and younger man idea behind this book. I loved that Pearl was very successful and was standing on her own two feet, wobbly as they were she was standing strong and making it work.

Alexandre Chevalier, why OH why does this man only exist in books? His dashing good looks, his French accent and manners totally sweep Pearl off her feet. He is only 25 but has a very old soul. He is immediately taken by Pearl and she is equally taken by him. They spent time together and there is an instant connection. I was a bit (not much) put off by how fast they fall into a conversation about sex, but I could easily put that aside.

I do love me an aggressive man and boy is Alexandre,  there is no question what he wants when he shows up at Pearl's door and she is more than willing to give it to him. I see no problem here.
At first Pearl is a bit of a push over, giving in a lot, not that I could blame her, but still I wished for more of a back bone. As the books went on, especially in the 2&3rd,  we see her getting stronger and coming into her own.  Alexandre is a French man who's ego gets to be a bit much at times, but Pearl never misses a chance to call him on it.
I found myself HATING Sophie, at one point I had to put the book down because she pissed me off so bad.. now, that's good writing! She was way to possessive of her brother, and he just wouldn't stand up to her, DROVE ME NUTS! I just KNEW she was up to no good...

Outside forces and pasts come back to haunt Alexandre and Pearl, causing a truck load of problems...Pearl is facing a violent past that rears its head and she needs time to process it.  A brutal past comes into play regarding Alexandre and he has to take matters into his own hands to make sure those he loves are not hurt, even if it means having to let go of Pearl. (which he never really does.)  Pearl stands her ground, making sure he knows she is not going to play second fiddle to his ex Laura (bitch) I LOVED this!
I really can't go into a lot of detail because I really want you to read this series and see the plot twists... I am telling you I did NOT see it coming.

All in all I really liked this series and would recommend it to my fellow "bookies", I thought the first book was rather short, but it was ok, knowing that the other two followed.

side note: if you are going to buy this series, look for the complete collection on amazon. It is much cheaper to get them all, then to buy them one at a time... Like I did!
