Naughty Stranger by Stacey Kennedy......Review by Dawn

After a sudden tragedy blew her world apart, Peyton Kerr fled her big city career and started over in Stoney Creek, Maine. So far, she's loving small-town life--no one knows about her past, and her easy flirtation with Boone Knight gives her a reason to smile. But then someone is murdered in Peyton's store, and her quiet, anonymous existence is instantly destroyed. To make matters worse, Boone--a police detective--is assigned to the case, and Peyton knows she can't keep him at arm's length any longer. She's resisted the simmering heat between them--but now this gorgeous man is promising to keep her safe--and satisfied...

Boone Knight doesn't want the complications of a relationship. But when he volunteers to protect his town's newest--and sexiest--resident, he finally admits he'd like to explore their sizzling attraction. And after one incredible night, everything changes for Boone. Peyton is sweeter--and braver--than anyone he's ever met, and with her in his arms, everything makes sense. He just needs to convince her to trust him enough to reveal her secrets, or risk losing her to a merciless killer who seems to grow bolder with each passing day.

Dawn’s Review

Ms. Kennedy is a new to me author and I AM A FAN! This story had a little bit of everything. A sexy cop , a widow, murder , mystery, and smoking hot off the charts chemistry.
Boone Knight , is a local detective along with his life long friends Asher and Rhett .
Payton is on a mission to move on. Move on from her grief, from her old life back when she was a Mrs and her life as a nurse. This is what brings her cross country to Maine and Boone Knight. Having bought a local lingerie store, right next to the local bar, owned by Kingsley Knight  Celebrating her new shop and meeting her new neighbor,  leads to a drunken kiss between Boone and Payton.  Wanting to forget the kiss , she keeps her distance from Boone, but little does she know a dead body is about to end up in her new shop.
The small town is rocked by the murder of a young innocent lady and even more shocking is the location of the body. Determined to find out who is guilty of murder and his unwavering need to protect Payton , Boone becomes her everything. I thought that maybe I would have a problem with this instant connection they shared, but it works very well. This is an all encompassing story, all the supporting characters are important to the story, but not overpowering the leads at all. I loved the friendships that were formed between Remy, Kingsley and Payton. It actually was my favorite part of the story.
The ‘whodunnit “ that ensues keeps you guessing. Boone and his boys are all over the placing in trying to find the suspect and figure out why Payton is a target. When it becomes clear that the women are not safe Boone, insists that Payton, has round the clock protection and he is all to happy to provide that.  Leading Payton and Boone, to some smoking hot encounters. As a reader you are treated to amazing chemistry.
The ending leads into book 2 which should be Remy and Asher’s story, which I am totally here for.!!!

Million Dollar Devil by Katy Evans........ Review by Dawn

Heir apparent to her father’s company, Lizzy Banks needs a man. The perfect man. But when the rich “fundbabies” she usually rubs shoulders with prove impossible to hire, she takes a chance on a raw beast of a man salvaged from the wreckage of a bar brawl.
James Rowan earns a modest income as a YouTube daredevil, but he can’t refuse Lizzy’s million dollar deal. As she polishes his rough edges, creating a sophisticated gentleman fit for the highest circles of society, not only does she bring out the perfect man—it’s like she’s making the man of her dreams. How can she resist?
Though Lizzy loves seeing James in his clothes—and out of them—he isn’t the kind of man you bring home to Daddy. Her father’s disapproval and the pressure of the campaign have her eyeing the straight and narrow, but Lizzy’s finding it awfully hard to resist the devil on her shoulder…

Dawn's Review

I really wanted to absolutely love this book in all aspects and for the most part I did. I have loved reading Katy Evans for years and am always impressed. This one just fell a little flat for me in some areas.

Elizabeth "Lizzy" Banks, is very likable and I really liked her "Lady Boss wannabee" attitude. She had a problem, she handled it. Her father's company is a multi-million business and she wants to run it one day. One problem, she is not a he and her father sort of treats her like a second class citizen. I really did not like the Father and daughter relationship. I wanted some resolve and I felt it was just brushed over. Lizzy needed to lose her cool and just totally set dear old dad straight. She worked her rear off and he was super condescending to her. But she persevered and made the deal of her life time and bet her career on James "Jimmy" Rowan.
I also really like Jimmy, he is everything that Lizzy, is against. Crass, loud, a fighter, a drinker and sexy as sin.  She needs him to be the face for the next big campaign of the new Banks Suits line.  He is not perfect but she thinks she can offer him enough money to make him perfect. If only she can keep her hands off him and his hands off her.
Their chemistry is off the charts and the back and forth pull to each other makes excellent reading. I really loved their story. Charlie, added some drama and he was a refreshing character.
I just didn't love the underlying issue of Jimmy's YouTube channel. I just felt it was a little "soft" on being that important and career ending for Lizzy.  I just didn't feel vested in the "big drama" of this issue. I was also a little put off by her father again. Telling James he was not good enough for his daughter, when he treated her so much better than her own father.
In the end I feel like they got their HEA and that was the direction the author wanted to take it , so it worked.

KIT: The Carson Brothers book 1 by S R Dyble........ review by Dawn

After her family was brutally murdered, Eve decided one thing. Never to let anyone in. To never love again. EVER.
That way, she wouldn't ever feel that hurt again. For a year she'd done just that. All that was about to change when Kit Carson, a cocky Australian boxer randomly enrolled onto her photography course at college and pushed his way into her life. Kit was everything Eve hated about pretty boys. Only, he wasn't a boy. He was all man. Despite her dislike for him, even she couldn't deny her curiosity. Things were about to change drastically in Eve's life, and secrets were about to spill out. All at the hands of Kit Carson.

Dawn's Review

I was very intrigued from the blurb and when the author reached out offering an ARC. This is a fantastic debut book. The Carson Brother's series is going to keep me coming back!
Eve, is broken and with very good reason. She is the loan survivor of a home invasion that left her parents and brother dead. She relives that night, every night when she sleeps. She is going through her young life devoid of emotion. Never allowing anyone in except her Grandparents and her friend Lilly. Until the day Kit Carson, shows up in her college class.
Kit is just that guy... you know the one that is so good looking that is should be illegal? His very existence makes Eve, uneasy. He is crass and entirely to cocky for her liking. He is just nothing that Eve would ever entertain. But, being "that guy" means, Kit sees Eve as a challenge.
The back and forth between Eve and Kit, is just priceless. She gives just as good as she gets. Never letting Kit feel like he has her on edge. Kit, makes it his mission to get to know Eve, even if she is throwing shots at him. They are the very definition of "there is a thin line between thin and hate. "
There is so much that I would love to tell you about the major "PLOT TWIST;" but that would be such a disservice to you. It was very very unexpected and being that I read SO much, It was so refreshing and welcoming .
This book does end with a cliffhanger, but the author is working on book 2 and I AM HERE FOR IT!

That Second Chance: A Getting Lucky Novel by Meghan Quinn........ Review by Dawn

That Second Chance (Getting Lucky Book 1) by [Quinn, Meghan]
It was supposed to be an innocent night, celebrating my brother’s birthday. Nothing was supposed to go wrong. We’d vowed to be on our best behavior after all . . .
But it only took one rowdy night with my brothers to flip my world upside down. One unlucky encounter saddled us with a family curse and the promise of doomed relationships. I laughed it off immediately. “Yeah, right,” I thought. “A love curse. Ha!”
Boy, was I wrong.
Word spreads quickly in a town like mine; rumors about that night soon made us the most eligible yet untouchable bachelors in Port Snow, Maine. As a subject of endless gossip and speculation, I could kiss my dating life goodbye.
It would have stayed that way if Ren Winters, the new girl in town, hadn’t crashed into my life. Brave, beautiful, and smart—her vivacious thirst for a fresh start has given me hope that maybe, just maybe, I can have one too.
Everyone wishes for that second chance . . . but could this really be mine?

Dawn's Review

I am a fan of Meghan Quinn, but what I absolutely loved was the dedication to her parents in this book.
When Ren Winters, arrives in Port Snow, Maine... she really makes an entrance!  Leaving a life behind in LA, Ren , is determined to start a new chapter across the country. She is an only child to her over baring , to put it mildly parents. Knowing that she needs to establish boundaries, she accepts a job in the small town as the new Algebra teacher.
Being a hero was not exactly how he would describe himself but Griffin Knightly is a hero in the small town he has lived his entire life. Taking over the family business, a volunteer fireman, heading up committees to help the town stay thriving, he is one of the good guys. Tragedy struck Griffin, early in his adult life and he has all but given up on feeling anything for anyone, ever again.  Little did he expect Ren, to come crashing into his life.
This is such a heartwarming story. I am not usually a person that likes, super sweet books and this one is NOT so much that it is annoying. Actually, it is perfect. I loved this book so much!   The banter, the descriptions of the town, the people... I felt like I was there. This book is vivid and evokes all of the senses.  You can taste the fudge and lobster. You can smell the ocean. You can hear the waves crashing. You can see the town and the people who make up this wonderful place. And you can feel the love growing between Ren and Griffin.
This is a small town and of course you have tons of gossip, especially when it involves a lifer and the new resident. The stories the town would weave were HILARIOUS! I laughed a lot reading the gossip people were spreading.
The Knightly boys, made their presence known throughout the whole book, which was fantastic. I really felt like I got to know each one a little before their stories are written. The Knightly boys are considered untouchable in Port Snow. Not because they are NOT lovable, but because of a rumor started and believed for years. Griffin, is afraid to love again and Ren is ready to love!  Will her love be enough to break the curse that Griffin, believes is always surrounding him?
The twists and turns are wonderful and I enjoyed this book very much.  I am so here for the rest of this series!

Her Wild Ride: Red Dragon MC book 1 by Heather Van Fleet ........4 clock review

I’m not a hero. I’m a bad dude who’s done bad things. And the sooner she understands that, the better off we’ll be.
Her Wild Ride: An addictive, steamy biker MC romance suspense novel (Red Dragon MC Series Book 1) by [Van Fleet, Heather]
I’ve just got out of prison and I’m running from my MC, so my step-sister’s best friend has agreed to drive me across the country.

Summer’s my ride. That’s all. But she captivates me, and I don’t have a damn clue why. She’s a distraction I can’t afford.

Is it because I’ve been told she’s forbidden?

Is it because she’s preppy and freakin’ beautiful, so not a part of my world?

With every mile of our trip, every spark of connection, she seems to inch closer to me. The temptation is too much to resist.

But she has no idea just how dangerous life would be with me. I broke club rules. I betrayed my brothers to save a woman’s life. If the Red Dragons find us we’ll be in trouble. And if I give into my desires, she’ll be in deeper than she realises…

Dawn's Review

I found myself really enjoying this story.
Summer's innocence and positive outlook , mixed with Niyol's sour outlook on life, was gold!
Niyol, is running putting as much distance between his MC and himself as possible. Taking the fall for a "brother," was what landed him in prison . He makes the decision to tun the tables on his MC and that is where the trouble starts. Needing to protect his step-mother and sister, he needs a ride, enter Summer. She is everything he is not and he can't help be a little attracted to that.
The banter was really great between them on their long road trip from Illinois to Cali. Summer put up with his brooding, even keeping to her schedule of stops along the way. You know what they say about the best laid plans...
This story really has all the makings for a great series. It is the perfect introduction to what I am sure will be a great series.
Drama, Romance, Danger and Love... Some things go unanswered so I am craving book 2, now!

Entangled by JS Scott book 2 ..... Review by Dawn

Dawn's Review This is the second book in the billionaire series by JS Scott and it did not disappoint.
I really enjoyed this story and the continuation of the Sinclair siblings.. Adrian, shared a summer of love with his sister’s best friend. They both came from very poor family’s and had to do what they could for money. This meant Aidan taking a summer job on a fishing boat, leaving Skye in the hands of her unstable mother. Little did Adain know Skye was about to be married off to a much older man. Aidan’s older brother Seth , stepped in and did what he thought was best for Aidan, not knowing the terror that would be Skye’s future.
This back story set the stage for the an epic show down between a seriously angry Skye. Forced to have to sit next to Aidan at Jades\’s wedding .Tempers boil over and Skye finally lets her fury out on Aidan.
This was easy to follow, which is surprising because there are a lot of players in this story. All the siblings are present and you can see where the set up is for the next story.. I am ready to read more in this series, because it keeps me invested in the characters. I am however, a little tired of the repetitive conversations about money . More on point , how the Sinclair family came into their new found fortune. It is mentioned often and is very unnecessary, I mean I picked up on it the first time it was mentioned. It did not need to be constantly repeated.

I am coming back for the remaining books because I do really enjoy the stories. 4 Clocks for Entangled by JS Scott Review based on book provided by NetGalley Image result for 4 clocks
